Westpac asked Wonder for an exiting activation to run when opening a new branch at Zetland shopping centre during Christmas time.

Wonder asked Joyce Design to develop a dynamic app to be used as a digital ‘Chocolate Wheel’ they could use during their activation to giveaway prizes. The app included a backend which was used to input prizes and quantities.

We developed the app as local web platform to overcome limited wifi access. The app was accessed on an iPad which connected to a local MacPro which hosted the platform. A third party device was then used to manage prize quantities and possibilities based on the spinner.

The app was the hero of this experiential activation. The event ran perfectly and the app performed exactly as required. The event was such a success it was used again in future activations.

Main Features


We designed the entire look and feel of the app required for this experiential activation including all related print material and digital assets.

Digital Development

A robust backend was developed to enable the administrator to add gifts and applicable quantities as well as control when certain prizes would become available in real time on a separate device.

Live Support

To ensure the event rolled on without a hitch, we provided one of our developers on site to assist with any technical issues, should they arrise (they did not).

Direct Client Interaction

Although Westpac was not our client, we were trusted to be able to deal with them directly, avoiding any critical information being lost in translation.
